The 50 pegs on this pool vary in width from 11-13mtrs. and depths seem to be universal throughout 300mm. down the margins tapering to around 1.5mtrs. down the middle to about 300mm. across.
This is a match anglers dream pool, absolutely
solid with all species of fish (80,000+ over 50 pegs).
Del the fishery manager intends to keep the size below 2lb in this pool, although there are a few bigger carp that are around 3-4lb, but when caught do get transferred to Trotters pool.
Methods here do vary, most anglers fish meat or corn down the side or across and all have there day. But I turned a few heads in 2000 by fishing the squatt and targeting the vast quantities of silver fish others ignored and breaking both day and evening match records on the pool.
My personal verdict : if you want plenty of bites from various species this pool would be hard to beat and the kids love it (young and old). The new Pasties range actually evolved from this venue.
