This is one of my
favorite to hand patterns for Rudd/Roach on Stillwater's in the summer months.
The stability of this pattern for such a small float is second to none.
Best used between 2.5mtr. and 4mtrs. to hand at depths between 6 and 12inches (150 and 300mm). Although many anglers have found that the titanium stemmed pattern is great on canal type carp waters where kinder cup feeding and the need to lower the rig through feed is essential, as the shape offers almost zero resistance to fish.
The "peg" based BS4 is best fished waggler style using either silicone or a waggler adapter (my choice when wind is bad and I need to keep pole tip under surface, which reduces float drag).
